Sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) occurs rapidly over a 72-hour period and is often very difficult to diagnose and treat. Patients with SSNHL may not present with a complaint of hearing loss at first and instead, around 80% of patients will have acute symptoms of tinnitus.
