Paying tribute to 9/11 through fitness and resilience

U.S. Army – Meant to honor the victims of 9/11 while encouraging fitness and resilience among the participants, the inaugural “Workout to Remember” event was held at Camp Zama, Japan.

Hundreds of Soldiers, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force members, and community members were at Yano Field on the morning of the 23rd anniversary of the attacks.

“Today’s event is all about remembering the people who lost their lives and [to realize] how fortunate we are to be able to live life to its fullest every day,” said Stefan Thompson, chief of fitness, athletics, and aquatics at the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation.
