VA News – The VA provides a broad range of programs that enable Veterans to access eye care through telehealth, including routine vision exams, eyeglass prescriptions, and the monitoring and treatment of common eye conditions.
There are three primary programs:
- Tele-Eye Screening: Detects common conditions like diabetic retinopathy using eye pressure tests and imaging.
- Technology-based Eye Care Services (TECS): Offers eyeglasses and basic ocular health screenings.
- Tele-Low Vision: Provides rehabilitation services to help Veterans maximize their remaining vision.
